What Kind of Plumbing Work Will You Be Doing?
A mix of residential and commercial across Orange and Seminole Counties, which means the day rarely looks the same twice. One call is a slab leak in a 1950s block home in College Park. The next is a tankless swap in Lake Nona. In between there is drain cleaning, sewer camera work, gas line runs, and the occasional whole-house repipe on a Winter Park property where the original galvanized has finally given up.
On the equipment side you will be installing Rheem tank units in gas, LP, and electric, plus Noritz and Rinnai on the tankless side. Those are the lines we stock and stand behind, so you will get familiar with them fast. Techs who have never pulled a permit in Orange County will learn that side too, because Central Florida code has its own quirks and we would rather you learn them on our time than on a customer's.
Trucks go out loaded with thousands of parts. That is deliberate. Most repairs get finished on the first visit, which means fewer callbacks and less of your day spent driving to the supply house. What Do We Look For in a New Hire?
A valid Florida driver's license is the first hard requirement, because every technician takes a company truck home and drives it to calls. Beyond that, every hire clears drug testing and a full criminal background check before their first ride-along. That is not new policy. We have screened this way for years, and customers who have used us since the seventies expect it.
Experience helps but a specific number of years does not gate the conversation. We have brought on techs who came in strong on drain work and learned gas piping here, and others who arrived from new construction and had to learn the pace of service work. What does not get taught is showing up when you said you would and explaining a repair to a homeowner without talking down to them. If you already do those two things, you are most of the way there.
